India is making strides in climate change awareness with its first Mumbai Climate Week (MCW) set for February 17-19, 2026. This event aims to unite leaders from many sectors—government, industry, and youth—focused on climate solutions. The goal is to create a platform for countries in the Global South to share ideas and initiatives.
Organized by ‘Project Mumbai’, with support from the Government of Maharashtra and other local entities, MCW will occur mainly at the Jio World Convention Centre. Events will stretch across the city, engaging colleges and community centers.
Shishir Joshi, the CEO of Project Mumbai, emphasized the importance of citizen involvement in this climate movement. He stated, “Mumbai’s innovative spirit is key to tackling the climate crisis.”
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis added that MCW showcases India’s commitment to proactive climate action. This event is a chance to highlight the potential for a sustainable future.

Notably, on the first day, attendees will witness the Earthshot Prize, which encourages innovative solutions for environmental challenges.
