Join Us for the Inspiring Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway at Stockton University This January!

Murphy Writing of Stockton University is back with its 32nd annual Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway at the lovely Seaview Hotel from January 16-19, 2026. This event is a winter highlight for writers of all skill levels looking to enhance their craft. Whether you’re just starting or have years of experience, this getaway offers a wealth of opportunities. You’ll enjoy helpful discussions, writing prompts, feedback, and plenty of writing time to bring your ideas to life.

“Writers will often achieve breakthroughs during this weekend,” said Peter Murphy, the event’s founder. It’s a chance to immerse yourself in creativity and meet other passionate writers.

Registration is now open to anyone interested in novel writing, short stories, nonfiction, memoir, poetry, and more. The tuition ranges from $595 to $795 and covers a comprehensive 15-hour workshop along with meals. Attendees can also join open mics, yoga sessions, networking events, a Story Slam, and even dance at the Getaway Disco. Plus, first-time participants may qualify for scholarship opportunities!
