Join Us for the Mobile Food Drop on August 26 in Blackduck: Nourishment for Everyone!

North Country Food Bank is teaming up with United Way of Bemidji Area for a mobile food distribution in Blackduck. This event will take place on Tuesday, August 26, at the Evangelical Free Church located at 241 Oscar Ave.

People can drive up to receive food from 10 to 11 a.m. or until supplies run out.

To pick up food, participants will need to identify themselves and answer a few simple household questions. This information helps the Food Bank provide more food options during these distributions.

Food insecurity is a growing concern. Recent studies show that around 1 in 8 people in Minnesota face hunger. Local food banks are vital in addressing this issue, especially as many families struggle with rising food costs. Engaging community efforts like the one in Blackduck can make a significant difference.

According to data from Feeding America, the effects of the pandemic have worsened food insecurity rates in rural areas. Initiatives like mobile food distributions offer immediate relief and connect families to resources they might not otherwise find.

Let’s hope for great turnout and support! Community efforts not only provide food but also build connections and support networks among neighbors.
