ALEXANDRIA, La. — Spirits Food and Friends is gearing up for a big celebration—their 25th anniversary! To mark the occasion, they’re hosting a fun 5K race and beer mile on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
This event isn’t just about running. It’s also a chance to support Manna House Ministries in Alexandria. Runners will gather at Spirits to kick off the races and will enjoy a post-race party featuring tasty food, refreshing drinks, and good company.
The day kicks off with a 1-mile fun run starting at 2 p.m., followed by the 5K at 2:15 p.m., and the beer mile at 3 p.m. It’s a great way to engage with the community.
Lee Gwinn, the owner of Spirits Food & Friends, shared, “This is one of the longest-running 5Ks in Central Louisiana.” Runners can pre-register here or sign up on the day of the event. More details are also available on their Facebook page.
Spirits has been hosting the 5K since 2000 and introduced the beer mile five years ago. “The beer mile is a blast. We usually see 50 to 75 participants. You sprint and drink a 12-ounce beer every quarter mile,” Gwinn explained.
Racers can pick up their registration packets at Run Wild this Friday from noon to 6 p.m. or at Spirits on Saturday from noon until 1:45 p.m.
