Join Us for the Utah Food Drive: Make a Difference This Saturday!

On Saturday, March 15, communities across Utah will join forces with the Utah Food Bank for the fourth annual Feed Utah event. This food drive is essential for restocking shelves that are running low, and the Food Bank is calling on everyone to help.

If you want to donate, simply fill a bag or box with non-perishable food items and leave it outside your door before 9 a.m. on March 15 for pick-up.

This year, there’s a new twist: any financial donations made online will be matched up to $65,000! This means that every dollar you give can turn into about $15.60 worth of goods and services. To make a donation, check out this link.

When donating food, please ensure it’s commercially packaged, non-perishable, and nutritious. The most needed items include beef stew, chili, peanut butter, boxed meals, canned meats, and canned fruits and vegetables. Just avoid glass containers, as they can break.

Local volunteers and church groups will start picking up donations at 9 a.m. on March 15 and delivering them across the state.

If you prefer to drop off your contribution, you can do so at various locations, including Utah Food Bank warehouses in Salt Lake, Springville, Blanding, and St. George. Many grocery stores like Macey’s and Lee’s Marketplace are also participating. For a full list of drop-off sites, visit this page.

This event plays a crucial role in supporting the 415,000 Utahns facing food insecurity, including 1 in 6 children. You can also get involved by volunteering to help with food donations on March 15. Learn more about the volunteer opportunity here.

Ginette Bott, President & CEO of Utah Food Bank, highlights the urgent need for help, especially as summer approaches—a time when food insecurity often peaks.

With rising food prices and increased demand for assistance, this drive has never been more important. Recent studies show that food insecurity rates have jumped in many areas, making grassroots efforts like Feed Utah vital. Every contribution helps change lives and supports families who struggle to put food on the table.

This event is not just about food; it’s a way to show solidarity in our community. Let’s come together and make a difference for those who need it most. For more details about Feed Utah, visit utahfoodbank.org/feedutah.
