LAFOLLETTE, TN – The East Tennessee Human Resource Agency (ETHRA) is looking for volunteers to assist with the USDA Food Distribution on June 9, 10, and 11. Your help is vital in making this event successful!
Here’s how you can pitch in:
Monday, June 9: 9 AM – 4:30 PM
Join us at the former West La Follette Elementary School at 300 West Beech Street. We’ll be unloading food from the truck and packing boxes for distribution. Please gather in the cafeteria, located at the back of the building.
Tuesday, June 10: 8 AM
We’ll distribute food at the Jellico Library. Meet at the former West La Follette Elementary School at 8 AM. Please have your own transportation. Afterward, we will return to pack food boxes for the La Follette distribution the following day.
Wednesday, June 11: 8 AM – 4:30 PM
This is the big day for food distribution in La Follette! Meet at the same location at 8 AM to help hand out food. We expect to wrap up around 4:30 PM.
What to Wear:
- Comfortable tennis shoes are a must!
- Avoid flip flops and very short shorts.
- Knee-length shorts and regular tank tops are fine.
- If rain is in the forecast, don’t forget your raincoat!
Last year, over 200 families received support during this event, showcasing the community’s need for assistance. Volunteers play a key role in this effort, and your participation could make a big difference.
