Join Us in Honoring Our Amazing Volunteers: Celebrating Volunteer Appreciation Month!

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, a time to acknowledge the amazing people who dedicate their time to help others. At the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, volunteers play a crucial role in the fight against hunger in our community.

Last year, over 36,000 volunteers contributed to our mission. They sorted produce, packed food kits, and prepared meals for those in need. Their hard work helps us support over one million people each month.

Volunteers do more than just lend a hand. They build stronger communities, showing up with kindness and a shared goal—making sure families, children, and seniors in LA County can access the food they need.

Every volunteer shift makes a big impact. With each box packed and every pound of food sorted, they help us deliver resources where they’re needed most, especially during tough times like economic struggles or emergencies.

Volunteerism is a reflection of the spirit of Los Angeles County. People from all backgrounds come together to support each other. Students, families, businesses, and community groups all contribute, demonstrating what we can achieve when we work towards a common goal.

During Volunteer Appreciation Month, we celebrate those who selflessly serve others. Every volunteer makes a difference in the lives of our neighbors, and we are grateful for their support.

Your help not only fuels our mission but also fosters a healthier and stronger LA County. Research shows that volunteering enriches personal well-being; it can boost your mood and provide a sense of purpose. A study by the Corporation for National and Community Service found that volunteers report better health and increased happiness.

Thank you to our incredible volunteers! Your generosity makes a significant difference. To find out about volunteer opportunities at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, check out our Volunteer Portal.
