Join Us Sunday for Senior Day as the Noles Take on Stanford: A Celebration at Florida State University!

Florida State’s women’s basketball team (9-18, 4-11 ACC) is set to host Stanford (16-11, 5-9 ACC) this Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. Before the game, the Seminoles will honor four seniors: Amaya Bonner, Sydney Bowles, Allie Kubek, and Jasmine Shavers.

This matchup marks a special moment in their history. Although they’ve faced off six times since the 1983-84 season, this will be the first game held in Tallahassee, with Stanford leading the series 4-2.

The Seminoles have a balanced scoring team with six players averaging over 7 points per game. Sole Williams leads the pack with an impressive 15.4 points per game, closely followed by Shavers at 12.3. Florida State shines in three-point shooting, ranking second in the ACC by making 8.4 three-pointers per game. Shavers is the standout, with 50 threes this season contributing to the team’s total of 226, marking the fifth-highest in FSU’s history.

In their last outing, Florida State lost to Cal, with Bowles scoring 17 points and Williams contributing 13. Bowles demonstrated her shooting skill, going 6-of-12 overall and sinking 4-of-7 from three-point range, including a buzzer-beater at the end of the first quarter.

The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network with commentary from Mark Neely and Angel Gray. Fans can also listen to the Seminole Sports Network on 96.5 The Spear and the Sirius XM app, featuring Jack Kavovit and Melissa Bruner.

With Florida State looking to improve its record, the support of fans and the talents of the senior players could be crucial for a strong finish to the season. Following the latest trends in college basketball shows that the team’s ability to adapt and learn from each game will be key in their upcoming matchups.
