Join Us This Saturday for the ‘Stamp Out Hunger’ Food Drive: Make a Difference in Your Community!

The National Association of Letter Carriers is hosting its annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive on Saturday, May 10. This nationwide event encourages community members to participate by leaving a bag of healthy, non-perishable food by their mailbox. Volunteers will collect these bags and deliver them to local food pantries like Open Door and the Salvation Army.

This drive is the largest one-day food collection effort in the U.S., highlighting the power of community in tackling food insecurity. According to the United Way of Pettis County, just fill the blue bag left in your mailbox and set it out early on May 10. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can contact Jamie at (660) 827-1613.

Donations of money are also appreciated if you prefer that route; just scan the QR code provided. All the contributions will directly support local families in Pettis County.

In a recent survey by Feeding America, nearly 1 in 6 Americans experienced food insecurity in 2022, underscoring the importance of events like this one. By participating, you’re joining a movement to help your neighbors in need.

The United Way emphasized, “This is one of the biggest food drives of the year, and it’s all thanks to the community’s support.” Your involvement can make a real difference.
