Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive This Saturday

MOULTRIE – Get ready for the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive on Saturday, May 10! This important event, organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers, encourages everyone in Colquitt County to help families facing food insecurity.

This food drive is among the largest in the country, bringing communities together to combat hunger. This year, every donation will support the Colquitt County Food Bank directly, making your contribution even more valuable.

The United Way of Colquitt County is teaming up with the food bank to coordinate efforts. Volunteers will collect, sort, and distribute donations to those in need throughout the area. If you want to help, here’s how you can participate:

  • Leave Non-Perishable Food by Your Mailbox: Fill a bag with items like canned goods, pasta, and boxed meals. Place it by your mailbox by 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 10. Your letter carrier will pick it up during their route.
  • Drop Off at the Moultrie Post Office: Bring your donations to the Moultrie Post Office between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Volunteers will be there to collect your contributions.

Did you know that food banks across the U.S. reported a 60% increase in demand for assistance compared to last year? The Colquitt County Food Bank is no exception. Every item you donate can help ease this demand and support families in your community.

Let’s come together and make a difference! For questions, contact the United Way of Colquitt County at admin@uwccga.org or call (229) 985-2627.
