WHITE MARSH, MD—An inspiring event is happening at the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company: Food Truck Tuesday. This week, Joe Hall, the founder of Hall Across the Country, will be a special guest. He’s on a powerful journey through all 48 contiguous states, raising awareness for mental health and sharing stories of hope.
Joe Hall’s mission started with a deeply personal loss. In 2022, he walked over 3,100 miles from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, to San Francisco to honor a friend’s son who died by suicide. His journey not only brought attention to mental health issues but also raised significant funds for children’s behavioral health services in Ohio.
According to recent studies, suicide rates have been on the rise, especially among young people. The National Institute of Mental Health reported that nearly 15% of U.S. adults had thoughts of suicide in the past year. Joe’s work is vital as he continues to spread awareness and hope.
At the Food Truck Tuesday event, the community can connect with Joe and support his cause. This gathering is more than just food; it’s about unity and support. The fire company will also collect pull tabs and aluminum cans for two charities: the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore and the “Archie’s Blankets Across America” program for flood victims in Texas.
Food Truck Tuesday takes place at the WMVFC station, located at 10331 Philadelphia Road in White Marsh, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is a great opportunity to enjoy delicious food while contributing to important causes.
