Jon Bernthal’s Punisher Joins the Action in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ – What Fans Can Expect!

Jon Bernthal’s iconic role as The Punisher is making a splash in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Set to film this summer in England, the movie will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Tom Holland will reprise his role as Spider-Man, with Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon returning as Ned. Newcomer Sadie Sink has also joined the cast. This film picks up after Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Peter Parker’s identity as Spider-Man was erased from everyone’s memory.

In a lighthearted moment, Bernthal shared how he and Holland helped each other land their Marvel roles. They both auditioned for their parts while filming Pilgrimage about eight years ago. Bernthal was instrumental in Holland’s audition, suggesting he incorporate acrobatic moves.

"Tom, maybe you should run up that wall and do a double backflip before starting the scene," he recalled. To everyone’s surprise, Holland delivered, making a lasting impact.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026. This collaboration between Bernthal and Holland has sparked excitement among fans. Given the popularity of both characters, the film is generating a lot of buzz online, with many discussing the blend of dark themes from The Punisher and the lighter tone of Spider-Man.
