He pointed out clips from Newsmax, where anchors claimed performing in Spanish was divisive. “Why is the entertainer responsible for unifying the country?” he asked. “Isn’t that someone else’s job? What has that person done lately to bring people together?”
The show turned to former President Trump’s comments on Bad Bunny, calling the show “terrible” and claiming, “nobody understands him.”
Stewart quipped about the absurdity of calling Bad Bunny incomprehensible, highlighting the ignorance around Puerto Rican culture. “It’s amusing that the right criticizes Bad Bunny for not unifying America when many just learned Puerto Rico is part of it!”
Stewart’s monologue sparks a larger conversation about cultural representation and the pressure artists face to please everyone. It’s also a reminder of how societal divides shape perceptions, especially in significant cultural events.
