Justice Department Seeks One-Day Sentence for Officer in Breonna Taylor Case: What This Means for Accountability

The US Department of Justice is recommending a one-day jail sentence for Brett Hankison, a former police officer found guilty of violating Breonna Taylor’s civil rights. Taylor was shot in her bedroom during a botched police raid in March 2020, sparking waves of protests and outrage across the country.
