Kash Patel Sets the Record Straight: No Plans to Leave the FBI Amid Controversy Over Epstein Files Ruling

FBI Director Kash Patel recently addressed rumors of his resignation. He denied claims that he was unhappy with the Justice Department’s decision to wrap up the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. In a social media post, he stated, “The conspiracy theories just aren’t true. It’s an honor to serve, and I’ll continue to do so for as long as needed.”

Recent decisions by Attorney General Pam Bondi and the FBI not to release more information about Epstein have drawn criticism, especially from hardline supporters of former President Trump. Figures like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Steve Bannon have voiced their discontent over the suggestion that there might be a client list related to Epstein in government files.

Critics are skeptical of the official conclusion that Epstein died by suicide in his jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial. Many still believe that he was murdered to silence him, fueling conspiracy theories. A Justice Department memo reported that no evidence of a “client list” or Epstein blackmailing high-profile individuals was found during the investigation. The memo stated, “There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals.”

Despite tensions within the FBI and the Justice Department, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed there is no rift regarding the investigation. He stated, “The suggestion that there was any daylight between the FBI and DOJ leadership on this memo’s composition is patently false.”

However, reports indicate that Dan Bongino, a deputy FBI director, has considered resigning after a heated debate with Bondi over the issue. Friends close to him described him as furious, with some sources claiming he threatened to quit unless Bondi was dismissed.

Trump himself has become frustrated with ongoing questions about Epstein, especially when pressed about missing footage from surveillance around Epstein’s cell. He responded sharply, saying, “This creep has been talked about for years… Are people still talking about this?”

Bondi explained that the footage gap was simply a result of the recording equipment resetting each night.

Still, many remain skeptical about the Epstein case. Even without hard evidence, conspiracy theories persist, as some see this as part of a broader narrative involving a “deep state.” The memo from the FBI and DOJ noted they found over 300GB of data, including disturbing materials related to child abuse. They stated, “We found no basis to revisit the disclosure of those materials and will not permit the release of child pornography.”

Overall, while investigations may be closed, the conversation about Epstein remains alive, driven by a mix of political tension and public curiosity.
