Keiser University is kicking off its annual Capitol Day this Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the Capitol’s Fourth Floor Rotunda. This exciting event will see students, faculty, alumni, and leaders come together in Tallahassee to connect with lawmakers. They’ll showcase the university’s programs and discuss its impact across the state. This year’s gathering also marks the countdown to Keiser’s 50th anniversary in 2027.
Scheduled speakers include state officials like Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez and Senate Budget Chief Ed Hooper, along with Chancellor Arthur Keiser and Vice Chancellor Belinda Keiser. They’ll be joined by Football Coach Myles Russ and Bob Boyd, President of Florida’s Independent Colleges & Universities. Other lawmakers and Cabinet members are also expected to attend.
The focus this year is on legislative priorities and workforce development. According to research commissioned by Keiser, the university makes a significant economic impact—about $5.9 billion annually in Florida. This figure includes support for nearly 44,770 jobs and more than $1.9 billion in income for Floridians.
Keiser University has strong rankings for advancing social mobility. In the latest U.S. News & World Report, it ranked No. 1 in 2023 for social mobility, maintaining a spot among the top 50 in subsequent years. This shows its commitment to helping students rise in their careers and improve their lives.
Chancellor Arthur Keiser expressed gratitude for the support from state leaders, emphasizing their role in expanding opportunities for students and addressing workforce needs in Florida. Founded in 1977, Keiser operates 21 campuses throughout Florida and also offers online programs and two international sites, serving nearly 20,000 students.
