The Panthers recently signed quarterback Kenny Pickett to support Bryce Young. Pickett is eager to step into this role.
“I think Bryce and I share a similar style,” Pickett explained. “We both excel in the pocket and can make plays when the situation gets messy. Coach Canales uses effective play action and allows us to move around. I believe we really complement each other.”
Pickett and Young first met in 2021 while both were Heisman Trophy finalists, with Young winning the award. “We had a great time at the ceremony,” Pickett said. “Not many can say they shared that stage. I have a lot of respect for Bryce and am excited to add my skills to our team.”
In addition to his connection with Young, Pickett also knows Coach Canales. They met during the 2022 draft preparations when Canales was with the Seahawks. “I was impressed with him back then. After watching his coaching methods with the Panthers now, I feel like I can thrive in his system.”
With both quarterbacks aiming for a championship, the Panthers’ future looks promising. Recent statistics show that young quarterbacks often lead their teams to success, and with the right support, Pickett and Young could make a strong impact.
