Patel comes with impressive credentials, currently serving as the CEO of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and heading the Pacific Northwest Region of CommonSpirit Health. Frank Ros, the chair of the search committee, mentioned that they reviewed nearly 200 candidates but Patel stood out thanks to his focus on growth and community well-being.

Patel will oversee a vast network that includes 11 hospitals, like the Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, along with various care centers and medical offices, supported by around 33,000 employees.
