Kevin Costner is seeking to have a sexual harassment lawsuit against him dismissed. The suit was filed by stunt performer Devyn LaBella, who alleges she was forced into an unscripted and unplanned rape scene while filming the Western series “Horizon.”
In recent court documents, Costner claims that LaBella was quite pleased during the shoot. He pointed out a text she sent to a supervisor after filming wrapped, expressing her gratitude and enjoyment. LaBella wrote, “Thank you for these wonderful weeks! I learned so much…”
Costner’s legal team has presented multiple declarations disputing LaBella’s claims. His attorneys, Marty Singer and T. Wayne Harman, asserted there was “no anger or resentment, only enthusiasm and gratitude” at the wrap of filming. This raises questions about the sudden shift in LaBella’s narrative.
On the specific day of the alleged incident, LaBella, who stood in for actress Ella Hunt, was filming a scene with actor Roger Ivens. According to Costner, there was no nudity or sexual contact. The visual he described shows LaBella in a long dress with bike shorts, as Ivens positioned himself on all fours above her.
Kevin insists that there was never any violent scene as claimed. He describes the entire situation as misrepresented, stating in his declaration that LaBella’s accusations are “absolutely false.” He voiced his disappointment at the attempt to tarnish his reputation.
