Kevin Stefanski Clarifies: Don’t Read Too Much into the First QB Reps at Practice!

The Browns kicked off their rookie minicamp, giving some rookie quarterbacks their first chance to shine on the field. Third-round pick Dillon Gabriel started the drills, followed by fifth-rounder Shedeur Sanders. Head coach Kevin Stefanski noted that both players performed well but emphasized that the order of snaps isn’t a huge deal.

“Honestly, I wouldn’t read too much into it,” Stefanski said. He mentioned that the entire weekend would help evaluate the players more comprehensively.

Stefanski also pointed out that when the rookies practice alongside veteran quarterbacks like Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, there will be ample opportunities to assess their abilities. “There’s plenty of time before September. We’ll have a plan, but our evaluation will consider much more than just practice reps,” he added.
