According to Ole Miss vice chancellor for intercollegiate athletics Keith Carter, the announcement regarding Kiffin’s future is set for the day after the No. 6 Rebels play their rival Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl on November 28. Rumors suggest that Kiffin is exploring job offers from Florida and LSU. Sources indicate that Ole Miss has extended a competitive contract offer to Kiffin, comparable to those from the other two schools.
Carter mentioned that he and Kiffin have had several “pointed and positive conversations” about the coach’s future. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the team’s impressive season, especially as they are on track to finish with a 10-1 record and potentially make a College Football Playoff (CFP) appearance. If that happens, they could host a first-round game at their home stadium in mid-December.
Kiffin has led the Rebels to at least ten victories in four of the last five seasons, boasting a solid record of 54-19 during his tenure. Amidst this uncertainty, Kiffin remains concentrated on preparing for the Egg Bowl, a vital game for the team.
