The Lindenwood women’s basketball team kicks off the 2025-26 season on Wednesday, hosting Harris-Stowe at Hyland Arena. The game, part of their annual Education Day, starts at 11:00 a.m.

Last season was remarkable for the Lions. They finished with a record of 23-11, their best in the NCAA era. They excelled in the Ohio Valley Conference, going 16-4 and reaching the OVC Championship game. This performance earned them a spot in the WNIT, where they advanced to the Super 16.

In just her third year, Coach Eagan made a significant impact. Under her leadership, the team’s win percentage jumped dramatically from seven wins in 2023-24 to 23 in 2024-25, marking one of the largest increases in NCAA Division I. Her efforts earned her the OVC Coach of the Year title.

This season, Lindenwood is favored to top the OVC in the preseason poll, securing 179 points and six first-place votes. Players Mya Skoff and Gracy Wernli are highlighted as key players to watch.

Returning juniors Brooke Coffey and Ellie Brueggemann, both all-conference honorees, will also play vital roles. Brueggemann led the team with an average of 12 points per game, while Coffey was strong on the boards, averaging five rebounds per game.

Last season, the Lions faced Harris-Stowe and won decisively, 87-61. Four players scored in double figures, and the team shot an impressive 53% from the field. After this opener, Lindenwood will travel to Waco, Texas, to take on Baylor on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Key Stats:

  • 23 Wins: A record for the program in the NCAA era.
