INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Plainfield is gearing up for a festive holiday season with exciting events, including a new public art installation and performances of The Nutcracker at Hendricks Live.

The festivities kick off with Small Business Saturday, featuring “Elves on the Loose” and a tree lighting ceremony at Bicentennial Plaza. The town is also teaming up with GANGGANG to unveil a stunning two-and-a-half-story art piece by artist Andrea Myers, showcasing Plainfield’s dedication to the arts.

“We have so much planned for Saturday,” said Stephanie Singh, Executive Director of Communications for Plainfield.

Addie Thomas from The Children’s Ballet shared her excitement about performing in The Nutcracker at Hendricks Live. She sees this as a wonderful chance to return to her roots and connect with the community.

The Trees of Plainfield event will take place over two weekends, offering fun activities like Grinch ornament-making and cookie decorating. These gatherings support the town’s charm while drawing visitors from nearby areas.

Hendricks Live has become a cultural hotspot, attracting audiences from multiple states. Its role in hosting seasonal shows, like The Nutcracker, highlights its importance to Plainfield’s cultural scene.
