CWU Wildcats Football Season Kicks Off

The CWU Wildcats are back for another exciting season of football under Head Coach Chris Fisk. With 111 players hitting the field for training, there’s a buzz of energy for the 2025 campaign.

Among the squad, 30 players are first-year Wildcats. The roster also welcomes 13 transfers, including standout junior college athletes and local talents from Washington. “We’re eager to develop our team during fall camp,” Coach Fisk said. He feels positive about their progress as they prepare for their home opener, the Rodeo Bowl against Colorado Mesa on August 28.

This year’s roster boasts significant local representation, with 96 players from the Pacific Northwest and 82 from Washington. The coaches have tapped into local talent, bringing in 13 athletes from central Washington.

The Wildcats are currently ranked 21st in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) preseason poll, with 176 points. They are set to face Colorado Mesa, which also received votes in the poll, making for an exciting matchup.
