Kickoff the Big Sky Indoor Championships: Montana State University Takes Center Stage This Thursday!

POCATELLO, Idaho – The Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships are happening in Pocatello at the ICCU Dome from February 26 to 28. This three-day event is a key highlight for athletes from 10 different schools in the Big Sky Conference.

The championships kick off on Thursday with multi-events. Female athletes Hailey Ells and Sabine Brueck will start the women’s pentathlon with the 60-meter hurdles at 10 a.m. Meanwhile, Preston Wysocki will aim for a strong start in the men’s heptathlon with the 60-meter dash at 10:15 a.m.

Fans can check live results here and find streaming options for all three days on ESPN+.

The competition promises excitement. The Montana State Bobcat women’s team ranks No. 1 in the conference, while the men’s team is No. 2. Both teams are looking to secure spots for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 13-14 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Athletes need to be among the top 16 in individual events or top 12 in relays to qualify.

A total of 26 women and 25 men will represent Montana State. Notable female competitors include Sydney Brewster, who excels in shot put and weight throw, and Tilde Bjerager, who competes in the 400 meters and hurdles. On the men’s side, Ethan Anderson and Noah Barbery are key players, competing in sprints and hurdles.

Recently, the Bobcats set impressive records at the Big Sky Tuner meet. Brewster broke her own school record with a throw of 17.25 meters, which is also a new Big Sky record. Kalei Moravitz set a new mark in the 800 meters, earning recognition as Big Sky Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.

Athletes and fans alike are eager to see if these performances can translate into more qualifying spots at the NCAA meet. In past years, the Big Sky Indoor Championships have shown collegiate athletes how to excel under pressure, fostering skills that last long after the event.
