Kickstart Your 2025-2026 Golf Season: Join the Exciting Grover Page Classic at the University of New Orleans!

NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans (UNO) Privateers are gearing up for the start of the 2025-2026 golf season. On Monday, they will head to Memphis, Tennessee, for the Grover Page Classic. This tournament holds special significance as it honors Grover Page, the first golf coach at UT Martin, who dedicated 35 seasons to the sport and passed away in December 2022 at the age of 88.

This is the sixth time in eight years that UNO is part of this tournament, though it’s the first time it will be held at the Links at Audubon due to renovations at the regular venue, Jackson Country Club.

The Privateers had a strong performance in the tournament in 2021, finishing third with a score of 865. Brady Bennett also made an impression that year by tying for third individually with a score of 209. Last season was more challenging, as UNO finished 15th with a two-round total of 616, led by Matt Weber with a score of 149.

The tournament format includes 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday, all using a shotgun start. The action kicks off both days at 8:00 a.m. Several schools will join including Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Memphis, and Eastern Illinois.
