Kim Kardashian Opens Up About California Bar Exam Failure: ‘I May Dress Like a Lawyer, But I’m Not One Yet!’

Don’t call Kim Kardashian a lawyer just yet—unless we’re talking about her role in All’s Fair.

Recently, she shared on Instagram that she didn’t pass the bar exam she took this summer. “Well…I’m not a lawyer yet; I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” she wrote. After six years of hard work, she remains determined. “No shortcuts, no giving up—just more studying,” she added. Despite previously failing the California bar exam three times, she found motivation in her close call this time around. She had passed the “baby bar” exam in 2021.

Kardashian is studying law through an apprenticeship in California. She has a strong focus on criminal justice reform. In a 2022 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she expressed her vision for the future, saying she wants to open a firm to hire formerly incarcerated individuals.

It’s interesting to note that law runs in her family. Her late father, Robert Kardashian, was a renowned attorney known for being part of O.J. Simpson’s defense team. This background undoubtedly influences her pursuit of a legal career.

Kardashian is also starring in All’s Fair, where she plays a lawyer. Despite its stellar cast, which includes Glenn Close and Naomi Watts, the show has faced criticism. THR’s Angie Han described it as “stiff and affectless.” However, viewers are tuning in as it currently ranks as the No. 1 show on Hulu. Kardashian humorously addressed the reviews on Instagram, questioning, “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?” while sharing memes and photos.

As of 2023, a survey showed that about 67% of Americans view reality TV personalities like Kardashian favorably, which highlights her huge influence. While her acting role might seem out of place, her determination to become a lawyer is very real, showcasing her commitment to making a difference in the legal field.
