Whitney Young Health and Equinox are excited to announce the appointment of Kindra McHale, CFRE, as the Chief Development Officer. This new leadership role aims to enhance fundraising efforts and improve health and human services in the Capital Region.
With over 15 years in philanthropy and nonprofit leadership, McHale is well-equipped for this position. She previously served as the Regional Director of Development at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). There, she successfully managed major gifts and secured vital support for the institution’s goals.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kindra to our leadership team,” says Dave Shippee, President and CEO of Whitney Young Health. “Her ability to build strong donor relationships will be key as we work to expand access to healthcare and support services.”
Before joining RPI, she held significant roles at YWCA Northeastern NY and Southern Saratoga YMCA. In those positions, she not only met but exceeded fundraising goals while improving community programs. Early in her career, McHale worked in corporate and community relations for State Farm Insurance.
McHale holds several qualifications, including a Bachelor’s in Communication from Penn State, a Professional Fundraising Certificate from Boston University, and a Nonprofit Management Certificate from SUNY Albany. She is also pursuing a master’s degree in strategic fundraising and philanthropy.
“I’m honored to join Whitney Young Health and Equinox,” McHale expresses. “Both organizations have a rich history of serving vulnerable populations, and I look forward to working with donors and partners to enhance these vital services.”
Whitney Young Health and Equinox are currently forming a partnership to bolster health care and human services in the region. By collaborating, they aim to improve service efficiency and expand their capacity to support those in need.
In her role, McHale will focus on development, fundraising, and engaging donors. Their objective is to deliver comprehensive, culturally sensitive care to thousands of individuals and families each year. According to recent studies, access to health services is critical, especially in underserved communities. This partnership and McHale’s leadership may play a crucial role in addressing these needs.
