Lakewood’s Emersyn Walker has made quite the academic leap! She earned a spot on the President’s Roll of Honor at the University of North Dakota (UND) for the spring semester of 2025. To achieve this, she maintained an impressive grade point average (GPA) of 3.8 or higher.
But that’s not all! Emersyn also landed on the Dean’s List this spring, which recognizes students who rank in the top 15 percent of their class. It’s clear that her hard work is paying off!
For a little background, the University of North Dakota is not just any campus. Established in 1883, it has grown into a leading research university, home to over 15,000 students. It holds an “R1” classification, indicating very high research activity, according to the Carnegie Foundation. This dedication to research includes many fields, such as artificial intelligence, space exploration, and health sciences.
In addition to its strong academics, UND is renowned for its vibrant community and support for students. A notable statistic shows that nearly 90% of graduates find employment within six months of finishing their degrees. This speaks volumes about the university’s commitment to student success.
Those who know Emersyn often affectionately call her “M dog.” Her journey is an inspiration, showing that persistence and dedication in education can lead to remarkable achievements. Congratulations, Emersyn!
