Murder Charge Filed in Case of a Missing Woman
In Lancaster, California, a significant legal action has taken place. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has charged Jossimar Cabrera with murder in the death of his wife, Sheylla Gutierrez.
Sheylla, 33, was reported missing last week. Shortly after, surveillance footage emerged showing Jossimar, 36, dragging what appeared to be a wrapped object from their apartment. This led investigators to search nearby areas, ultimately finding Sheylla’s body in the Angeles National Forest.
As the investigation unfolded, it became evident that Jossimar had left the country and might be hiding in Peru. Authorities are now working on extraditing him back to the U.S.
Recent reports reveal that Jossimar traveled to Peru with their three young children. The Peruvian consulate in Los Angeles stated that they could not detain him due to the absence of an arrest warrant. Fortunately, the children were found safe and are currently under protective care. They’ve since been returned to Los Angeles to be with their mother’s family.
This case has sparked much attention online, with many expressing outrage over the tragic circumstances. Social media platforms are flooded with discussions on domestic violence awareness and the importance of early intervention in such cases.
As of now, the exact cause of death for Sheylla is still being determined by the coroner’s office. This heartbreaking situation serves as a reminder of the urgent need to confront domestic violence issues head-on.
