BMW has just introduced the Final Edition of its beloved Z4 roadster. This marks the end of an era for BMW’s roadsters, as production will cease by March 2026.
The Final Edition will be available for orders starting in late January. There won’t be a direct successor, though BMW will continue to offer convertible options in the 4 Series and 8 Series.
This special edition features unique styling, including a striking Frozen Matt Black paint job and M High-Gloss Shadowline trim. It also comes with red M Sport brake calipers, giving it a sporty edge.
Inside, the Z4 offers a stylish design with red stitching on the dashboard, center console, and seats. A matching steering wheel and special sill plates add to the upscale feel.
Customers will have the choice between three models: the sDrive20i with 197 horsepower, the sDrive30i with 258 horsepower (not available in the UK), and the powerful M40i with 340 horsepower. While the final pricing hasn’t been announced, the current lineup caps at £59,365.
The Z4 has a rich history that began with the Z3 in 1995. The first-generation Z4 debuted in 2002 with modern styling and the thrilling Z4 M Roadster, which produced 336 horsepower.
Interestingly, roadsters have a long-standing appeal among car enthusiasts. A recent survey indicated that 65% of drivers find roadsters thrilling, linking them with freedom and performance. This connection might influence how enthusiasts react to the Z4’s retirement.
