Brown is currently listed as day-to-day, as is defensive lineman Kalia Davis (knee tendinitis).
Unfortunately, linebacker Tatum Bethune is out for the season due to a groin tear, and surgery may be necessary. Shanahan mentioned, “That’s something they’re still deciding.” Other players missing the game, like tackle Trent Williams (hamstring) and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee/ankle), will be evaluated as the week progresses. On a positive note, wide receiver Jacob Cowing will resume practice on Wednesday.
Confidence in Linebacker Depth
With Bethune out and uncertainty around Winters, Shanahan expressed trust in veteran linebacker Eric Kendricks. “I’m real confident in Eric,” he said, noting Kendricks’ recent contributions to the team. If Winters can’t play, Garret Wallow and Curtis Robinson are options for the weak side.
Regarding Fred Warner’s potential return, Shanahan stated it’s not currently a focus, calling it “too far off right now.”
