Lubbock, Texas (May 1, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University wrapped up the outdoor season at the Corky/Crofoot Shootout. It took place at the Terry & Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex, hosted by Texas Tech.
While no athletes achieved provisional marks, several athletes made impressive finishes and set personal bests.
Sophomore Landon Lee stole the spotlight by winning his heat in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 11.08 seconds for an overall 10th place finish.
In distance events, Gavin Morrison stood out, finishing 7th in the 5000-meter run with a personal best of 15:14.08.
Yair Berrios also made the top 10, taking 7th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.53 seconds.
For the Lady Chaps, senior Joy Egwu showcased her talent with two top-10 finishes. She came in 9th in the 200-meter dash at 24.74 seconds and finished 10th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.97 seconds.
Additionally, Olivia Weider achieved her fastest time of the season in the 5000-meter race, finishing 5th with a time of 18:30.57. Shelby Robinson also made an impact, placing 6th in discus with a throw of 41.71 meters.
Looking ahead, both the Chaps and Lady Chaps are preparing for the 2026 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. This event will take place at West Texas A&M from May 7-9 in Canyon, Texas.
This competition is an essential stepping stone, as many athletes will aim to improve their times and marks while vying for conference titles. As the season wraps up, every performance counts, and the anticipation builds for their next challenge.
