Legent Health Appoints Dr. Todd Albert as Chief Medical Officer
Legent Health, based in Plano, Texas, has appointed Dr. Todd Albert as its new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Albert is well-known in the orthopedic field and will oversee clinical strategy as Legent expands its network of ambulatory surgery centers across the U.S.
Dr. Albert comes with over 20 years of experience in clinical, academic, and executive roles. He is currently the Surgeon-in-Chief Emeritus at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), which is ranked as the nation’s top orthopedic hospital. His focus will be on ensuring high-quality patient care as well as developing partnerships with other physicians.
In October 2025, Legent was acquired by HSS and General Atlantic to create a new platform dedicated to orthopedic and spine care. This partnership aims to meet the growing demand for outpatient solutions by expanding access to care across the country. Even with this change, Legent will maintain its name and leadership structure.
Dr. Albert expressed enthusiasm about joining Legent, sharing that he believes in their mission to provide high-quality care while making it more accessible for patients. His experience includes a strong record of improving patient services and hospital revenues. While at HSS, Dr. Albert helped to increase annual revenue from $600 million to $1.7 billion and established various international collaborations.
