BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men’s basketball is hitting the road this Saturday to face the Holy Cross Crusaders in Worcester, Massachusetts. The game starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Hart Center.
In their long history, Holy Cross leads with a score of 45-31 in their matchups. But Lehigh has picked up steam lately, winning seven of the last ten encounters, including a hard-fought 78-72 win on January 27, 2024.
A win on Saturday would mark Lehigh’s eighth victory of the season, boosting their record to 3-7 in the Patriot League. Coach Dr. Brett Reed could also improve his all-time record against Holy Cross to 22-15.
Recently, Lehigh faced a challenging game against Navy at home, where they fell 79-54. Despite a strong showing in their previous rivalry win over Lafayette, the Mountain Hawks struggled to find their rhythm. Navy shot an impressive 50% while Lehigh managed 37.3%. Edouard Benoit stood out for Lehigh, scoring 15 points, while Tyler Whitney-Sidney added 13 and Hank Alvey chipped in with 12.
Holy Cross has had a mixed season. They entered league play as the only team with a winning record but are now at 11-11 with a 3-6 mark in the Patriot League.
