Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are a beloved couple in Hollywood. Fans were excited when it was announced that Adam, known for his role in The OC, would join Leighton, a former star of Gossip Girl, in her new Stan Original series Good Cop/Bad Cop.
But there’s even more good news! Leighton will also appear in the second season of Adam’s popular Netflix show Nobody Wants This. This announcement came after Leighton hinted at a possible cameo while chatting with Yahoo Lifestyle.
When discussing Adam’s surprise appearance in Good Cop/Bad Cop, Leighton shared, “It was a total shock to all of us.” Her co-star Luke Cook cheekily chimed in, saying it was unexpected for her to find him on set that day. Leighton added that she always knew they would be working at the same time and felt there had to be a character Adam could play.
Leighton explained how Adam infused his own brand of oddness into the character he portrayed, making the experience joyful for everyone involved.
When asked if she might appear in Nobody Wants This, Leighton reacted playfully, saying it would be fun. Luke proposed a character idea for her—playing a hot Jewish woman at Adam’s character’s synagogue. Leighton seemed intrigued by the idea, showing enthusiasm for the role.
So, who will Leighton play in Nobody Wants This? She’ll portray Abby, described as Joanne’s (played by Kristen Bell) middle school rival, now turned Instagram mommy influencer. The reveal thrilled fans, especially considering Kristen Bell’s connection to Gossip Girl, leading one fan to call it “Gossip Girl 2.0.” Another praised the inclusion of Leighton, Adam, and Kristen as an excellent combination.
This isn’t the couple’s first time working together. They’ve starred in films like The Oranges and Life Partners and even shared a screen on Leighton’s sitcom Single Parents in 2019.
Now, let’s take a look at Good Cop/Bad Cop. In this show, Leighton and Luke Cook play siblings Lou and Henry. They are quite different but must collaborate as detectives in the small town of Eden Vale, a place filled with quirky residents and lacking resources. Their father, the Chief of Police, forces them to work together.
The series has a fun vibe, reminiscent of popular shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Schitt’s Creek, focusing on humor and the bond between the siblings.
