Bayern Munich secured a 3-1 win against VfB Stuttgart, but it wasn’t their finest match. Michael Olise, Leon Goretzka, and Kingsley Coman scored for Bayern, balancing out a stunning goal from Angelo Stiller in the 34th minute. Stuttgart controlled much of the first half, putting Bayern on the back foot. It wasn’t shocking that Stuttgart scored first given their strong start.

In total, Bayern had 8 shots on target compared to Stuttgart’s 3. However, two of Bayern’s goals were gifts from the Stuttgart defense. A misplaced pass from goalkeeper Alexander Nübel led directly to Goretzka’s goal. Coman capitalized on Josha Vagnoman’s mistake to score Bayern’s final goal. Despite having several key players injured, Bayern managed to pull through.
After the game, Goretzka, who filled in for the injured Joshua Kimmich, reflected on how Bayern improved in the second half. “It was a tough game. We didn’t start well but we stayed calm. The second half was much better. We won the second balls we didn’t control earlier. In the end, it was well-deserved,” he shared.
Goretzka’s midfield partner, João Palhinha, also saw limited playtime due to injury but had just returned. Goretzka noted that Palhinha gradually found his rhythm as the game continued. “João was out for a while. It’s tough to jump back in. I did my best to support him, and we started to click as the game went on,” Goretzka explained.
