Liberty University’s Women’s Tennis Team Faces Exciting Challenges at ITA Atlantic Regional

Liberty Women’s Tennis Team Gears Up for ITA Atlantic Regional in Blacksburg, VA

The Liberty women’s tennis team is set to compete in the ITA Atlantic Regional Championship. This event runs from October 16 to 20 at the Borrows-Burleson Tennis Center, hosted by Virginia Tech. Twenty-three teams from the Atlantic region will be participating.

Liberty will be sending six of its eight players to the tournament. This is their third event of the fall season, following the Jimmy Powell Invitational and the Martha Thorne Invite.

The tournament kicks off with singles qualifying rounds. Players need to win two matches to move on to the main draw. Throughout the competition, they will play singles and doubles matches, with each player guaranteed at least two singles matches.

Finalists in both singles and doubles will qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships later this fall.

  • Liberty has a combined record of 15 wins and 15 losses in singles, with a 9-6 record in doubles this fall.
  • Yoanna Radulova leads the team with a 5-3 singles record and qualifies automatically for the main draw.
  • New team member Candy Wai made a strong impression, finishing her debut with a 2-1 singles record and 3-0 in doubles alongside Aranai Martinez at the Martha Thorne Invite.
