Lieutenant Governor Inspires at National Seminar on ‘Integration in Indian Languages’ at NIT Srinagar – ANN News

On September 19, in Srinagar, India, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed a national seminar about the integration of Indian languages at the National Institute of Technology. He spoke passionately about India’s rich diversity in languages, noting that this diversity is a vital strength for the nation.

Sinha emphasized that despite different backgrounds and languages, a shared national identity unites everyone. He urged the youth to transcend these linguistic divides and work towards building a “Viksit Bharat,” or a developed India. He pointed out that each Indian language and dialect contributes to a vibrant cultural tapestry, which must be celebrated and preserved.

Interestingly, recent studies show that about 43% of Indian adults are bilingual, with Hindi serving as a crucial link between various linguistic groups. This highlights the importance of language in fostering unity. Sinha remarked that Hindi should act as a bridge, encouraging people to learn other languages as well.

He also urged young people to adopt a forward-thinking mindset, shedding remnants of colonial attitudes. The 21st century, he said, is “India’s century,” marked by growth and the potential to become a global power. Current research supports his view, indicating that India’s GDP is projected to grow significantly in the coming years, placing it among the world’s largest economies.

During the seminar, Sinha praised the efforts of NIT Srinagar for their Official Language Cell, created to promote Hindi. He also recognized writers and researchers for their contributions to India’s linguistic heritage.

The Lieutenant Governor ended his speech by encouraging students to learn new languages, which can foster innovation and broaden perspectives. His message resonates with a growing trend on social media, where users increasingly share their experiences of learning multiple languages, emphasizing the enriching impact it has on their lives.

By celebrating linguistic diversity and promoting unity, India can confidently step into a prosperous future.
