Lily Allen recently opened up about her experience at a treatment center. She shared her journey on her BBC podcast, “Miss Me?” with cohost Miquita Oliver.
At the beginning of the episode, Miquita expressed her happiness about Lily’s return. Lily replied, “I feel very grateful to have been given the time and the space that I needed.”
Allen revealed she spent a few weeks at a treatment center. “I did a lot of group therapy and some individual therapy. I just needed some time away from everything,” she explained.
During her stay, she focused on “a lot of shadow work” and explored her inner child. “It was not easy by any stretch,” she said. “It’s a lifelong journey of healing, not a quick fix.”
Now, meditation plays a huge role in her daily routine. She practices several times a day, and it has become an important tool for her well-being.
Lily also touched on her family life during the podcast. She and her husband, actor David Harbour, have reportedly split. Allen mentioned that her decision to seek help was partly to be a better parent to her daughters, Marnie and Ethel. “I absolutely adore my children, and I need to be my strongest self for them,” she said.
She acknowledged that it was a tough choice to leave her kids for treatment. “Ultimately, it was for them,” Allen explained. “I needed help to get through this.”
Feeling secure is important for her children, and she admitted that emotional struggles made it difficult to provide that stability. But she feels she’s on the right path now. “I’m not saying I’m 100% there, but I’m definitely in a stronger place,” she concluded.
