CORVALLIS, Ore. – In the second round of the 2026 NCAA Corvallis Regional, Kansas State’s Alex Lindstrom shot a 3-over par 74 at Trysting Tree Golf Club, which measures 7,361 yards and has a par of 71. This performance placed him in a tie for 29th, with a total score of 1-under par 141.
Head coach Grant Robbins expressed his confidence in Lindstrom’s game. “Alex played better than his score reflects. He hit great shots, especially on the back nine. He just needs to fine-tune his putting. Adjustments will help him come back strong for the final round,” Robbins said.
Lindstrom, who hails from Halmstad, Sweden, started well with a birdie on the second hole but faced challenges with bogeys on the fourth, sixth, and seventh holes. His back nine saw a similar pattern: he birdied the tenth but bogeyed the thirteenth and seventeenth.
Currently, Lindstrom stands 12th among competitors at risk of not qualifying for the next round. The top five teams and the best individual from a non-advancing team will proceed to the 2026 NCAA Championship. Oklahoma’s Ryder Cowan leads individually at 9-under par 133, with his team sitting at 28-under par 540.
It’s interesting to see how tournaments like this shape up. In golf, player performance can shift dramatically as seen in recent events. For instance, in a survey conducted by the Golf Channel, 67% of pros noted that mental state plays a significant role in their performance.
The final round kicks off Wednesday at 9:42 a.m. (PT). You can track live scores on SCOREBOARD powered by Clippd or catch the action on Babygrande Golf.
