The Lions Club of New Ulm recently stepped up to help the community by donating $1,500 to the New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf. They also gathered and donated 48 pounds of food during their January meeting.
This generous act is part of the Lions Club International Week of Service, which ran from January 3 to 11. During this week, Lions Clubs across the globe focused on various projects to combat hunger.

If you or someone you know is in need of food, you can visit the Food Shelf located at 1305 South Valley St. The hours for operation are from 12 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, and from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
