LANCASTER, PA – Brendan Listzwan, a freshman forward from Johns Hopkins, has just been named the Centennial Conference Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year. He also earned a spot on the First Team All-Centennial Conference. This recognition comes as part of the league’s recent announcement, celebrating the standout players of the season.
Joining Listzwan on the All-Centennial Team are senior defender Scotty Coleman, who made the Second Team, and another senior, Will Andrus, who received an honorable mention. With these honors, Johns Hopkins now has a total of 172 All-Centennial selections since the league’s inception in 1993, including 78 first-team players.
Listzwan’s achievement is significant as he is one of only two freshmen in the league to make the first team. He is the third Johns Hopkins athlete to be named CC Rookie of the Year and just the seventh freshman to earn First Team honors. Over the season, he scored five goals and provided seven assists, amassing 17 points while starting in 19 of the 21 games.
Coleman, meanwhile, had a solid season, starting all 17 games he played. He also scored five goals, marking the first time he has been honored in this way during his career. He wraps up his time at Johns Hopkins with 15 goals and 34 points over 80 games.
Andrus, a consistent presence on defense, played 13 games this season before being sidelined for the final stretch. In his four years, he featured in 69 games and contributed two goals and six assists.
Freshman Paul Sapilewski also made waves in his debut season, participating in 17 games with a goal and an assist to his name.
This strong performance by the Blue Jays highlights the team’s growth and potential for future seasons. The skill and determination of both the newcomers and seasoned players set a positive tone for what lies ahead.
