The warmups are done, and we’re just about 20 minutes away from game time. It feels electric here in Boston.

Defenseman Josh Morrissey won’t be playing for Canada tonight. Instead, Thomas Harley is stepping in. Fun fact: Harley was born in the U.S., but he has Canadian parents, so he represents Canada.

As for the U.S. team, if Chris Kreider plays, he might just be the surprise hero. He’s had a rocky season with the Rangers, and this game could be his chance to shine.

In a funny twist, elevators have been a big part of our experience this tournament. Our friend Per from Sweden got stuck in one on Monday but made it just in time for the games.

Today, Scott Burnside, a Hockey Hall of Famer, got stuck waiting for an elevator for almost 15 minutes. It was the longest I’ve seen him wait, and believe me, he’s usually pretty laid-back.

When we finally arrived at TD Garden, the elevator to the press room felt more like a local stop than an express ride. But we all made it in one piece!

These past 11 days have been quite a journey since our team, minus Dan Rosen, gathered in Montreal on Super Bowl Sunday. We’ve faced all sorts of weather—snow, ice, and wind—along with long waits and plenty of coffee from Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts.

None of us expected this tournament to grow so monumental in such a short time. Yet here we are, gearing up for one of the biggest international hockey games since the “Miracle on Ice” 45 years ago. What a moment to be part of!

Before the puck drops, I want to thank everyone who took the time to read and contribute to this blog. A shoutout to the entire NHL.com team—writers, editors, and producers—your hard work has made this coverage possible. Enjoy the game!
