Welcome to the second day of the 2025 Men’s NCAA Division I Championships! We’re in for an exciting finals session tonight, building on last night’s thrilling events. Although there are just a few races, the intensity is sure to keep us on the edge of our seats.
First up is the 500 freestyle. Rex Maurer from Texas, the American Record holder, is the top contender in the final. This morning, even a time under 4:10 didn’t secure a spot in the top 8, which hints at some incredible performances ahead.
Texas’ Hubert Kos also impressed with a time of 1:38.89 in the 200 individual medley prelims. He’ll face tough competition from Destin Lasco, Owen McDonald, Carles Coll Marti, and Julian Smith, all of whom swam under 1:40 this morning.
In the 50 freestyle, Tennessee’s Jordan Crooks is the clear favorite after posting an 18.00 in the prelims. His teammate Gui Caribe, who clocked 18.34, will join him in the finals.
