The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 results are officially out. Conducted by IIT Roorkee, candidates can check their scores at gate2025.iitr.ac.in or goaps.iitr.ac.in. To view their results, they need to log in to the respective portal. Scorecards will be available from March 28.
The GATE exam took place from February 1 to February 16, covering 30 subjects. Responses were shared on February 27, allowing candidates to challenge the answer keys during the objection period, which lasted until March 1.
For those who met the minimum cut-off score, the GATE scorecard will show marks for individual sections, overall scores, and the All India Rank (AIR). It’s important to note the negative marking policy: for wrong answers in multiple-choice questions (MCQs), candidates will lose points. Specifically, for a 1-mark MCQ, one-third of a mark is deducted, and for a 2-mark question, two-thirds are lost. Interestingly, there is no negative marking for incorrect answers in Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) or Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
Currently, GATE maintains a significant role in the academic and professional landscape in India, especially for engineering graduates.
