In Udhampur, students expressed their joy at being reunited with friends. Palak Sharma, a student at Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth School, shared her relief, saying, "I’m really happy that classes have resumed. We need a safe environment to focus on our studies." The anxiety from the recent tension is still fresh, but with the situation improving, there’s a sense of hope.

Samragi, another student at the same school, echoed these feelings: "I’m grateful to the Indian Army for ensuring our safety. It’s great to be back with my classmates."

Interestingly, recent studies indicate that educational interruptions like these can have lasting effects on children’s mental health. A report from UNICEF suggests that prolonged school closures can lead to increased anxiety and depression among students. Given the importance of routine, it’s clear that reopening schools is essential not just for education but also for emotional well-being.
