As the owner of the Rollin with Jelly food truck, McKenzie has spent the last six years handing out turkeys in Nashville just before Thanksgiving. Each year, his event gets bigger. “Our first year, we gave away 100 turkeys. This time, we’re aiming for 500,” he shared with excitement.
This weekend, he’ll be serving at 833 Murfreesboro Pike. It’s about more than just food; McKenzie is creating a fun atmosphere for families. “We’ll have live music, bounce houses, obstacle courses, and enough meals to feed 700 to 1,000 people,” he said.
The need in Nashville is growing, especially with recent government shutdowns making it harder for families to make ends meet. McKenzie hopes his event will lift spirits and provide support to those who might feel forgotten. “Thanksgiving should be about community and celebration,” he emphasized.
