Lucknow Super Giants Welcome Bharat Arun as New Bowling Coach: What This Means for the Team’s Future

Sources have confirmed that Arun has joined Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as their new bowling coach. This marks a significant change for him, as he previously coached Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for four years, helping them win the IPL in 2024.

Arun’s move comes on the heels of KKR’s decision to part ways with their head coach, Chandrakant Pandit. LSG, finishing seventh in IPL 2025, sought a top-tier fast-bowling coach, and Arun fits the bill.

Interestingly, Arun has a rich history in cricket. He served as the bowling coach for the Indian team during two important stints, from 2014 to 2015 and from 2017 to 2021. During this time, he played a crucial role in transforming the team’s fast-bowling dynamics, which is evident in India’s recent successes in international formats.

While LSG welcomes Arun, there is uncertainty surrounding the future of head coach Justin Langer and mentor Zaheer Khan within the franchise. Reports suggest that Langer may be stepping down, while discussions with Zaheer are ongoing.

Arun also has experience with Royal Challengers Bangalore between 2015 and 2017, further solidifying his credentials in the league.

Overall, this coaching shift reflects LSG’s aim to bolster their squad for future seasons, aiming for better performances in the IPL.
