Madden NFL 27 Features Bears’ Caleb Williams on Cover, Full Reveal Upcoming

EA Sports unveiled the cover of the Madden NFL 27 video game on Wednesday, featuring Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.

Additionally, a full reveal for both Madden NFL 27 and College Football 27 is scheduled for Thursday, referred to as the Opening Drive.

The NFL also released videos from Williams’ photo shoot for the standard and deluxe editions of the game.

Williams is the first player from the Bears to be featured on the cover of the main version of Madden, though offensive lineman Roberto Garza was the cover athlete for the Spanish language edition of Madden NFL 09.

The 24-year-old Williams was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft by the Bears after winning the Heisman Trophy at USC.

After a promising rookie season, Williams had a breakout year in 2025, leading the Bears to an 11-6 record, an NFC North title, and a playoff victory.

Under new head coach Ben Johnson, Williams completed 58.1 percent of his passes for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while rushing for 388 yards and three touchdowns.

He set a Bears single-season record for passing yardage and came close to becoming the first Bears quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards in a season.

In two playoff games, Williams passed for 618 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions, showcasing an exciting style of play.

His selection as the Madden NFL 27 cover athlete follows expectations as he establishes himself as a prominent quarterback in the NFL.

EA Sports announced that Madden NFL 27 will be available worldwide on August 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
